Meet the Team

Partner and Vet

Joe is a partner of the practice and has been a vet since 1981. He is primarily based at out Thame and Chinnor branches. His favourite activity during work is performing thyroidectomy procedures. This is a very delicate surgical procedure involving the removal of the thyroid gland. At home he has one dog called Tilly, two cats called Darcy and Lizzie and some fish. In his spare time he enjoys running, reading and gardening.

Practice Director and Vet

Mandy joined the team in December 2015 and she enjoys doing acupuncture. She has 6 dogs and in her spare time she enjoys gardening.

Senior Vet

Amy joined the Sprinz and Nash team in 2007 and has a certificate in small animal medicine. She is currently on maternity leave until March 2016. At home she has a black Labrador called Harley and enjoys countryside walks and looking after her family.


Verity Crossen

Verity joined the team in 2012 as a veterinary surgeon. Verity has a special interest in ophthalmology and equine practice. She enjoys baking yummy cakes, walking and reading in her spare time.



Dan joined the Sprinz and Nash team in July 2015 and has a special interest in neurology. He has a horse called Dan and in his spare time he likes to sing in a choir and play video games.

Veterinary Surgeon

Jonathon joined us in October 2016 as a locum is now a permanent part of our team. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011 and spent his early vet years in a mixed practice in outback Australia. He enjoys surgical procedures of any form. Jonathon loves sport and socialising with friends.

Gillian Leeson
Head Nurse

Gillian joined the practice on Valentine’s Day 2014 as a RVN, became Head Nurse in November 2014. Gill graduated from Harper Adams University in 2011 with a foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing, originally from South Yorkshire, Gill moved to Oxford after graduating to live with her husband on his family farm. Gill has three dogs: Teddy 2 year old Springer Spaniel, Holly a 12 year old Border collie who still lives in Sheffield and Bramble a 6 year old Working Springer Spaniel. She also has four cats, all moggies, Frank who is ginger boy, two black and white boys called Louis and Oscar, and Mabel a tail-less tabby she rescued. Gill also has a one eyed Guinea Pig called Moe. In her free time Gill likes to cook, swim and will soon to be going on maternity leave, for her first baby due September 2017.

Emma Horsey
Deputy Head Nurse

Emma joined the Sprinz and Nash team in 2012 as a registered veterinary nurse and took up the role of deputy head nurse in September 2014. She qualified from Worcestershire university in 2012 with a foundation degree in veterinary nursing and animal behaviour. Emma has a particular interesting in anaesthesia and exotics and has two house rabbits of her own called Rocky and Florence. In her free time she likes to play computer games and go to live music gigs.

Caroline Wilson

Caroline joined the Sprinz and Nash team in September 1996 and has an interest in nurse clinics, wound management and nutrition. At home she has Barney a rescue dog and three cats, two of which were born in a guinea pig hutch! In her spare time she likes gospel singing, dramatic theatre and card tricks.

Nicola Drury

Nicola joined the team in August 2010. Nicola trained with Sprinz and Nash to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse, and qualified in 2013. She has an english springer spaniel at home called Oscar and enjoys taking him out for walks and family time.

Student Nurse

Josh joined us in February 2014 as an auxiliary and started at Warwick College September 2015. He has a Yorkie named Mojo and grew up with many animals from hamsters through to tropical fish and a parrot.

Student Nurse

Ben has been working with us since August 2014 as an auxiliary nurse. Ben is passionate about working with livestock, but also loves to work with small mammals. In his own time Ben enjoys going to the gym, swimming, reading books, and socialising with his friends. At home Ben has 4 dogs, Woody a German Shepard, Ozzy a blind springer spaniel, Jackson a black pug and Pugley a tan pug. Ben also has three cats at home, Honey, Chico and Angel.

Student Nurse

Chloe joined us in April 2017, is a second year veterinary nurse from Harper Adams university. She is enjoying getting stuck into work and learning new skills. She has two siamese rats called Itchy and Scratchy, that love to cause mischief. At home she enjoys reading, socialising with friends and walking.

Student Nurse

Zoe joined us in April 2017 and is a second year veterinary nurse student from Harper Adams University. She has a particular interest in medical nursing and the biological science side of veterinary medicine. Outside of work she enjoys going to the beach, spending time with family and socialising with friends. Zoe has a ginger cat called Rupert and a cheeky rabbit called Lola.

Esme Supple
Auxiliary Nurse

Esme, has been working at Sprinz and Nash since summer 2015 in the position of auxiliary nurse, helping to keep the practice clean and tidy and helping in the lab. Has always been an animal lover and owns a Collie cross; Rufus and a cat called Bugsy who she rescued through the practice.

Anna Scarrott
Head Nurse

Anna is a veterinary nurse at our Princess Risborough practice. She has a special interest in companion animal behaviour and has multiple diplomas in the subject the highest one being Advanced diploma in feline behaviour management. She has a border terrier called Bollo at home and some fish. In her own time she enjoys swimming.

Robin Lomas

Robin joined Sprinz and Nash in 2007 as a veterinary nurse and in based at out Princes Risborough practice. At work she really enjoys running nurse clinics. At home she likes walking, gardening and looking after her family.

chris greaves

Chris joined the Sprinz and Nash team in 2006; she works on the accounts upstairs in the Thame branch. Chris has a dog at home and enjoys walking and gardening in her spare time.

Marlyn Bass
Head Receptionist

Marilyn has worked as a receptionist at Sprinz and Nash since April 2010, and from August 2015 she is now Head receptionist. She has two mischievous border terriers called Hubble and Hunnie. She enjoys walking and exploring in her spare time.


Nyree started working at Sprinz and Nash in June 1996. Starting off training to be a Veterinary Nurse, which unfortunately did not happen, she then moved onto Reception and has been here ever since! She deals with a lot of the Large Animal queries and with TB testing. Nyree has her fair share of animals to look after at home: 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 guinea pigs, 1 hamster, 2 ponies, 4 chickens and 4 fish! Happily married to her partner in crime Keith, they have 2 lovely daughters Rhiannon and Lydia. In her spare time she enjoys being outside- very much a country girl! Nyree loves riding her horses, and Hunting and Point to Pointing are a big part of her life.


Allie joined Sprinz and Nash in 2013 as a receptionist at our Thame branch. During work she loves to see all the puppies and at home she has a French bulldog called Bertie.


Katie joined the team in May 2015 as a receptionist and works at our Thame branch. She particularly enjoys seeing the puppies and kittens come into the practice. She has a cat called Murphy. In her spare time she likes football, music, reading, and cooking.

Chloe Hewitt

Chloe has been working at Sprinz and Nash for 18 months, since moving back to the UK from Australia. She has a degree in Philosophy and loves working at the vets as there is always something new to learn.

Outside work Chloe is kept busy by her three year old son, two guinea pigs and three fish, and enjoys music and walks in the countryside.

diane osborn

Diane joined Sprinz and Nash in September 2015 as a receptionist in the Thame hospital. She has a dog called Doug that is a Rottweiler cross spaniel. Diane enjoys jewellery making and walking in her spare time.


Josie has been part of team at the Princes Risborough branch for four years. She really enjoys meeting the clients and their pets but currently has no pets of her own. In her spare time she loves going to Wildlife Parks and has been to Mexico and swam with dolphins.

Gabriella sandwell

Gabriella joined the team in August 2014 as a receptionist and is based at our Princes Risborough practice. She has a dog and in her spare time likes to do arts and crafts.

Jane Emmett

Jane has lived in Princes Risborough almost her entire life. She has two dogs, a Sheltie called Robbie and a rescue cross called Mitz.  Jane loves participating in Dog Agility with them which they also enjoy; it has the added bonus of keeping Jane fit as well as Robbie and Mitz!
